Children And Penguins

With Summer holidays fast approaching, everyone needs a helping hand (or two) keeping the kids entertained. We’ve put together a list of guaranteed winners to keep the whole family happy. Read on to find your next day out!

1. Step into the fairytale at Shrek's Adventure! London

Become the hero of the story and help Shrek save the day! Immerse yourself in a magical adventure with Cinderella, the Muffin Man and Princess Fiona that’s fun for the whole family. It all starts with a 3D bus experience and ends with a meet and greet with Shrek himself! And for this summer, meet Puss in Boots himself and a fiesta held in his honour. Find out more here!

2. Explore Sea Life London Aquarium

Dive into an underwater world of glittering scales, waddling feet and razor-sharp teeth at Sea Life London Aquarium. This is perfect for families with children of varying ages with something for everyone to engage with. If you love penguins, sharks or turtles then this is the place for you! Plus, for this summer only, there is an additional activity trail to help Captain Careless find all his lost treasure that is hidden around the aquarium. Tickets available now!

3. Visit the Royal parks for a picnic

Nothing beats a picnic on a sunny summer's day, right? Well luckily London has some amazing green spaces that everyone can enjoy. You could spot the pelicans at St James’ Park or walk through the Rose Garden at Hyde Park. Then set up with tasty sandwiches and blanket for a perfect picnic!

4. Take a Big Bus Tour

If your kids want to see EVERYTHING that London has to offer, then a Big Bus Tour may be the best way to spend a day. You’ll experience driving around the heart of the capital and see over 30 of the capital’s most famous landmarks. You’ll swing past the lastminute.com London Eye, hit up the Houses of Parliament and even drive by Buckingham Palace. You can also hop on and off at any point to get up close and personal with your favourite landmark! Visit their website for more.

5. Meet the animals at Vauxhall City Farm

Just along the Southbank from Shrek’s Adventure is the wonderful Vauxhall City Farm. There are a wide array of farm animals just waiting to meet you including the stars of the show – Ben and Jerry the alpacas. If alpacas aren’t your thing then there are Donkeys, Rabbits and even Chinchillas. Best of all its all free! Click here for more information on the Farm.

Now that's what we call summer family fun! More than enough to get you through to September... right?
