Frequently Asked Questions

Our most common questions from our guests

Who is Shrek's Adventure for?

Who is Shrek's Adventure suitable for?

During your adventure you’ll meet many characters (princesses and donkeys included), but as in all fairytales you may also encounter a witch or two, which some of our younger audience may find scary! Whilst there’s no age limit, we recommend Shrek's Adventure! London for children aged 6-12 (and for those younger knights and princesses feeling especially brave).

Is the attraction suitable for pregnant guests?

Pregnant guests are welcome to visit Shrek’s Adventure at any time during their pregnancy and can take part in all of our shows. The tour itself can take up to one and a half hours where you will be walking and standing the majority of the time.

Are there any age restrictions?

Shrek’s Adventure is suitable for all ages, afterall Shrek is a family-ogre! Please note, children under the age of 3 go free but we do advise that the attraction is most suitable for children aged 6 and over.

If at any time you need to leave the attraction, simply speak to the actor in the show you are in and they will arrange for someone to help you to the nearest exit as soon as possible.

Children 15 and under must be accompanied or supervised by an adult, prince or princess aged 18 years or over.

Please remember all tickets purchased are non-refundable so please be sure before purchasing your tickets.  For a full list of terms and conditions please follow the link provided.

Are there any 4D Magic Bus restrictions?

The magic bus is a 4D cinema experience that includes water sprays, air blasts, fog and aromas. You should not experience this section of the tour if you suffer from any disorder or condition that may be affected by any of the above, or if you have an overly sensitive nose and don’t like the smell of swamps!

The bus is not suitable for guests who suffer from the conditions below;

  • Epilepsy
  • Motion sickness
  • If you have a heart condition or if you are fitted with a pacemaker
  • Asthma
  • Any other chronic illness.

The bus is accessible to wheelchair users who are able to transfer up one step, into the seat and have the ability to sit upright.

Getting Here

Where is it?

Shrek’s Adventure! Is located not too Far Far Away but  in County Hall, on Westminster Bridge Road, SE1 7PB, between the Coca Cola London Eye and Sea Life London Aquarium.

Is there a car park?

Unfortunately there is not a car park on site for public use or for onion carriages; however there are a few car parks within walking distance of the attraction, such as Hungerford Bridge car park located next to Jubilee Gardens which is a short distance from Shrek’s Adventure.

Can I bring in luggage with me?

Shrek’s Adventure does not allow entry with luggage as we are still trying to unpack Princess Fiona’s many suitcases; London Waterloo Station does have a left luggage facility where you can store belongings for the day for a small fee. Please enquire at the station for further information.

Booking Tickets and Ticket Collection

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased via the Shrek’s Adventure website or General admission tickets can be purchased at the attraction on the day of your visit, depending on availability.

Please note: The time on your ticket is not the show time but the time you are allowed to enter the building and queue.  Queue times differ depending on attendance levels and can go from 10-35 minutes. We advise you allow yourself at least an hour and a half to enjoy the whole experience and to have the most fun on this adventure to Far Far Away

Can I use a voucher?

At Shrek’s Adventure we may take part in the odd ogre-sized offer but it would be disappointing to arrive and find that your voucher isn’t valid.

Make sure you're wearing your shrek-tactles to check the full terms and conditions to see if your voucher is valid with us or if there are any exclusion dates.   Details of where these conditions can be found will be printed on the voucher.

Shrek’s Adventure! London operates a timed ticketing system and has a limited capacity each day.  During peak periods we will sell out so we suggest arriving as early as your cotton socks can carry you on the day of your visit to redeem your voucher and secure an entry time.  Some vouchers do allow on line booking but the majority don’t, so make sure you check your voucher for details.

If you want to avoid ogre-sized disappointment booking by our website guarantees your entry and you can save up to 20%! That could buy Donkey a waffle or two!

I have a pre-paid ticket from another attraction, do I get priority entry?

Combination tickets purchased from another attraction such as the Coca-Cola London Eye, SEA LIFE London Aquarium, The London Dungeon or Madame Tussauds must be booked into a show time before starting your tour.  On arrival you will need to exchange your confirmation or voucher for your Shrek’s Adventure ticket at our box office and join the entry queue at your designated show time.  Please note that combination tickets do not guarantee you entry until you have exchanged them at our box office.  If we are sold out for the day (highly likely in peak times) then you will be asked to book for another day.

Are tickets refundable?

All tickets purchased are non-refundable.  For a full list of our terms and conditions please follow the link provided.

How do I make a group (10+) booking?

To make a group booking please call our Merlin Contact Centre on 0871 221 2837 (Calls to this number cost 13p per minute plus your provider’s access charge).

I have selected a time, what time should I arrive?

Please arrive at the attraction within the time indicated on your booking confirmation and not a moment sooner. You will need to bring a printed version of the booking with you on the day.  On arrival present your printed booking confirmation to a member of the door staff who will direct you.

Please note: If you do not arrive within your allocated arrival time, there may be an extended wait for the next available show time.  In busy periods we cannot guarantee immediate entry if you miss your arrival time.

I have a Merlin Annual Pass. Can I visit?

We encourage all our Merlin Annual Pass holders to book online to secure their entry timeslot for £1 per pass. Both Standard and Premium Pass holders can book here.

If Standard or Premium Pass holders arrive without a pre-booked entry timeslot, our team will endeavour to book you onto the next available time. As we are set to be very popular this year, we would advise any pass holder wishing to do this to visit us as early as possible to ensure we do not sell out. If, in the event that we are unable to book you into your preferred entry timeslot on that day, we will book you into a timeslot on another day of your choice. If the attraction is sold out when you arrive, the team will book you into a timeslot on another day of your choice.

Please remember that Standard pass restrictions apply as per the pass’ terms and conditions. For the full terms and conditions of your pass, please visit the Merlin Annual Pass website here: http://www.merlinannualpass.co.uk/terms.aspx.

V.I.P Merlin Annual Pass holders should make themselves known to a member of staff when you arrive at our attraction. You will then be met by a member of our team who will escort you in.

Combination Tickets

How do they work?

When booking a combination ticket through our website, you will be asked to select a date and time. This date and time is for your visit here at Shrek’s Adventure! London. From this date, you have 90 days to visit all the other attractions you have purchased and entry is not guaranteed on date of booking and subject to that attraction’s capacity.

When you arrive to collect your tickets, you will be issued with your Shrek’s Adventure! London tickets and vouchers for all other attractions that you have purchased. You will need to take these vouchers to the relevant attraction and exchange them for scannable tickets. Some attractions require you to book into a time slot; these attractions are the London Dungeon, SEA LIFE London Aquarium, the London Eye and the London Eye River Cruise.

I have purchased a combination ticket through another attraction, can I book a time online?

Currently we are only able to exchange your voucher for a timed entry ticket in person in our box office. We would advise visiting us here at Shrek’s Adventure! London as early as possible to secure a desired time slot. If there are none available on that day, then our team will endeavour to book you into another desirable timeslot on another day. Remember, you have 90 days to use your ticket!

Can I collect my order earlier than my chosen date and time?

You can collect your order prior to your visit day if this is convenient. Please remember however that your Shrek’s Adventure! London ticket is only valid for the date and time you selected. All your other vouchers will have a date on them; you can exchange these at the correct attraction at any point from this date.

I have purchased Big Bus tickets, how do they work?

Your Big Bus tickets will be valid from the date in which you have chosen to visit us here at Shrek’s Adventure! London. You will collect your Big Bus vouchers when collecting your tickets, and can then take them to any Big Bus stop to exchange them for your tickets. Our team will happily advise you of the closest stop when collecting your tickets.

The Experience

How long will my visit last?

Tours consist of groups of a maximum of 40 people and last approximately 1 hour and 15 fairy-tale minutes.  There is an interactive area at the end of the tour where you can meet your favourite friends  from other DreamWorks worlds of Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon; you may spend as long as you want practising your martial arts skills with Mr Shifu, testing your strength with Gloria the hippo and hopping aboard a plane with those crazy penguins.   The time on your ticket is the time you are allowed to enter the building and queue.  Queue times differ depending on attendance levels and can go from 10-35 minutes.  Guests waiting to purchase General Admission tickets on the day of your visit, be advised that the ticket office queue can reach up to 30 minutes.

What do I do if I want to leave the attraction?

If at any time you need to leave the attraction, simply speak to the actor in the show you are in and they will arrange for someone to help you to the nearest exit as soon as possible.
